With a view to growing competition among companies active in the agri-food supply chain and in particular in the olive growing supply chain in the community territory, and in the need to increase entrepreneurial and technical potential, the project idea of the A.T.S. was born. “SICILY NOSTRUM”.
The objective undertaken by SICILIA NOSTRUM consists in the creation of value for agricultural products, the promotion of products in the global market, encouragement of information activities aimed at consumers to improve their knowledge of agricultural and food products and in particular of oil extra virgin olive oil.
This project initiative promoted by Sicilia Nostrum promotes the meeting between the supply and demand of certified oil and wine and promotes the valorisation of the product on the market. Greater knowledge of the consumer is equivalent to greater health well-being with positive effects on the entire agri-food market.

WHAT IS SICILIA PGI OIL
The Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) is a quality mark, which is assigned to agricultural or food products for which all phases of the production process have a link with a precise geographical area of reference which confers uniqueness to the product. The PGI SICILY is a certification, where the production, transformation and packaging processes must be carried out within the regional territory. In the PGI SICILIA, producers must comply with the strict rules contained in the specifications, compliance with which is guaranteed by an independent control body (I.R.V.O. Regional Institute of Wine and Oil). The protection and promotion of PGI Sicilia oil are entrusted to the consortium recognized by MASAF.

WHAT IS DOP OIL VAL DI MAZARA
The protected designation of origin “Val di Mazara” isreserved with Extra Virgin Olive Oil meeting specific requirements e conditions.
The olives are produced, processed and packaged throughout the entire territory of the province of Palermo and in some municipalities of the province of Agrigento.
The Protected Designation of Origin is a quality mark that the European Union only releases oils obtained from olives grown in a specific territory.
Biancolilla, Nocellara, Cerasuola are the three native cultivars that compete, alone or jointly for at least 90%, to distinguish the oil in taste and quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil DOP "Val di Mazara".
The Biancolilla variety, light with floral and vegetal scents, takes the name comes from the colors that characterize its maturation. The delicate the relationship between bitter and spicy characterizes Nocellara del Belice, with notes of green tomato and aromatic herbs. Rich in pulp olivesof the Cerasuola variety characterized by hints of tomato red, thyme, oreganoand rosemary. The uniqueness of our oil lies precisely in its fruity andintense taste in its golden yellow color with shades of intense green.

Sicilia DOC aims to contribute to the continuation of Sicily's complex viticultural heritage by promoting the region as a whole, focusing on improving established quality standards – including the reduction of maximum yields in vineyards and the conservation of the island's historic areas. Comprising both small and large wineries, the DOC Sicilia is dedicated to the production of extraordinary white and red Sicilian wines that have a deep connection with their territory of origin. A wine with the Sicilia DOC denomination guarantees quality and a deep respect for the ancient winemaking traditions of the island. Only the best wines from Sicily are Sicilia DOC. Sicily DOC wines are produced with great respect for nature towards sustainability, and the large variety of grapes makes it easier to pair these wines with all types of culinary traditions.
